Morocco : 168 trains for the 2030 World Cup

Morocco has ordered 168 trains for €2.8 billion from Alstom, CAF, and Hyundai Rotem, including 18 TGVs from Alstom, ahead of the 2030 World Cup co-hosted with Spain and Portugal. The operation, backed by the Treasury, leverages Alstom’s expertise (Fès factory and Tanger–Casablanca TGV) to boost the rail industry. This strategic project modernizes the nation’s infrastructure and includes plans for a local suburban train factory.
