Mawazine 2024, one of the most anticipated music events in Morocco, is back in full force with an exceptional lineup. This 19th edition, taking place from June 21st to 29th in Rabat, promises to delight music enthusiasts with a variety of international and local artists.

Since its inception in 2001, the Mawazine Festival has been committed to offering a diverse and high-quality lineup. This year, the festival will welcome world-renowned artists such as Nicki Minaj, Calvin Harris, and Samira Saïd.

Nicki Minaj, the global rap icon, will perform on the OLM Souissi stage on June 28th, 2024. Nicknamed the « Queen of Rap, » she has revolutionized the music scene with hits like « Super Bass » and « Anaconda. » With over 228 million followers on Instagram, her presence at Mawazine is a major event.

Calvin Harris, the famous British DJ, will set the Nahda stage on fire on June 27th. Known for his collaborations with artists like Rihanna and Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris promises a phenomenal show. Audiences will also enjoy the triumphant return of Moroccan diva Samira Saïd at the Mohammed V National Theater on June 28th.

Despite the presence of major international stars, Mawazine does not forget local talent. More than half of the lineup is dedicated to Moroccan artists. However, this distribution has sparked criticism. Many Moroccans denounce the low share reserved for local artists compared to the high fees of foreign artists.

More than just a music festival

Mawazine 2024 is not just a music festival. It plays a crucial role in promoting tourism, culture, and the local economy in Rabat. Every year, over 2 million spectators flock to the Moroccan capital, contributing to the regional economy. In addition to concerts, the Mawazine festival offers a rich program of cultural activities. These activities highlight the values of diversity, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue promoted by the festival.
