The World Happiness Report 2026 (Oxford / Gallup), based on 2023-2025 data, ranks Mauritius first in Africa with 5.83/10, ahead of Libya (5.82), Algeria (5.57), South Africa (5.21) and Mozambique (5.19). Globally, Finland, Denmark and Iceland rank top three.
