October 4, 2025, MansA – Maison des Mondes Africains – officially opens its doors in Paris. A public cultural institution, MansA is designed as an inclusive and open space, dedicated to promoting, showcasing, and transmitting contemporary African and Afro-diasporic cultures.

MansA is envisioned as a living house – a place of encounter, creation, and reflection

MansA is envisioned as a living house – a place of encounter, creation, and reflection. Its mission is to explore the artistic and cultural dynamics shaping the African continent and its diasporas, while reaffirming their essential role in global contemporary aesthetics.

For its inaugural program, MansA has entrusted its keys to multidisciplinary artist Roxane Mbanga. Author, filmmaker, and creator, Mbanga has been developing since 2022 her “dream house,” a nomadic project weaving together her Guadeloupean, Cameroonian, and Ivorian heritage with the stories she collected across Africa and the Caribbean.

In Paris, *NOIRES* takes on a new form: the *Grand Salon*. This central space of her imagined house becomes a place of hospitality, storytelling, and shared memory. Through textiles, furniture, visual works, and objects, Mbanga creates an inhabited environment where visitors are invited to bring their own narratives and envision their ideal “home.”

MansA sets the tone for its mission: to be a home to live in together, where personal and collective stories meet, and African and diasporic creativity finds a vibrant stage

The exhibition will run until October 26, 2025, with an accompanying cultural program including talks, performances, and workshops inspired by the artist’s themes of memory, heritage, and collective imagination.

By opening with *NOIRES*, MansA sets the tone for its mission: to be a home to live in together, where personal and collective stories meet, and African and diasporic creativity finds a vibrant stage.
