Mali : Fuel supply deal with Niger signed to support northern regions, $100M committed

On May 16, 2025, Mali and Niger signed a $100M agreement to secure fuel supply for northern Mali until December. The pact defines prices and volumes for deliveries to Gao, Kidal, Timbuktu, and Ménaka. Despite regional insecurity, both countries aim to stabilize energy access in the area as part of broader Sahel economic integration efforts.
