Mali Construction of a 50 MW solar power plant
Amea Power Group won the contract to build and operate the 50 MW solar power plant in Tiakadougou-Dialakoro, a small village of 7,000 inhabitants a short distance from Bamako.
According to the signed agreement, Amea will build the solar power plant and operate it for 25 years. The overall cost of the project is US$75 million. Once completed, the plant will supply electricity to the inhabitants of the Koulikoro region. The first results are expected in one year’s time. The government also expects the plant to improve the rate of access to electricity, which currently stands at 41%.
