Madagascar : African Development Fund grants $165 million loan to open up the country’s south
On December 11, 2024, the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund granted a $165 million loan to Madagascar to finance the third phase of the Corridor Development and Trade Facilitation Project. This project aims to promote the economic and social integration of southern Madagascar by opening up this rich agricultural region, opening transport corridors to the rest of the island and the African continent, while improving trade facilitation processes between the ports of Tulear and Beira.
