Kous Louanges Mang : positioning Accra as the anchor of a Pan-African tourism vision
Established in Ghana since 2003, Kous Louanges Mang has witnessed more than two decades of the country’s economic and cultural transformation. In 2024, she took a decisive step by founding Destination au Soleil, a pan-African travel and experiences company headquartered in Accra. Her ambition is clear: to position Ghana as a regional tourism hub and contribute to redefining Africa’s image through travel.

Destination au Soleil specializes in the design and marketing of tourism, cultural, and lifestyle experiences. The company offers tailor-made packages, hotel bookings, ticketing services, event organization, and vehicle rentals. Yet beyond its services lies a broader vision.
To showcase African destinations beyond stereotypes
“Our role is threefold,” she explains. “To showcase African destinations beyond stereotypes, to create local economic opportunities by collaborating with guides, hotels, and artisans, and to facilitate intra-African mobility through a structured and secure offering.” Within this strategy, Ghana stands out as a natural base. Its relative political stability, strong pan-African positioning, and growing cultural appeal make it a strategic location.
Since national initiatives such as “Year of Return” and “Beyond the Return,” Ghana has established itself as a historical and cultural gateway to Africa. The country attracts the African diaspora, as well as African travelers, investors, and business tourism stakeholders. This momentum has repositioned Accra as one of the continent’s emerging strategic destinations.
Destination au Soleil contributes to this dynamic through experiential offerings and digital storytelling that highlights Ghana’s cultural richness. The goal is to present Ghana as an accessible, welcoming, and strategic destination at the crossroads of heritage tourism, lifestyle experiences, and business travel.
Challenges remain significant. Intra-African mobility continues to be constrained by high flight costs and visa requirements. Service standards across the continent remain uneven, and certain destinations still suffer from fragmented perceptions. To address these obstacles, the agency relies on strong local partnerships, rigorous provider selection, and ongoing educational efforts aimed at travelers.
The objective is clear: to connect Africans with one another and strengthen the continent’s attractiveness first for its own citizens
Collaboration is central to its model. Destination au Soleil works with tourism boards, hotels, content creators, and pan-African communities. The company organizes and participates in familiarization trips, cultural events, and targeted digital campaigns aimed at the diaspora and African travelers. “The objective is clear: to connect Africans with one another and strengthen the continent’s attractiveness first for its own citizens.”
Digital technology plays a central role in the strategy. The website, social media platforms, and online booking tools help inspire, reassure, and streamline the customer experience. More broadly, digitalization contributes to structuring Africa’s tourism offering and professionalizing the ecosystem.
Within the next decade, Kous Louanges Mang aims to establish Destination au Soleil as a leading pan-African platform capable of connecting experiences, culture, and business. Through tourism, she seeks to actively contribute to Africa’s economic transformation, with Accra as the strategic anchor of a continent on the move.
