Kenya : Stéphane Séjourné visits to strengthen bilateral relations

Stéphane Séjourné, French Foreign Minister, begins his first African tour since January 2024, visiting Kenya, Rwanda (for the Tutsi genocide commemorations), and finally Ivory Coast. This initiative aims to bolster bilateral relations between France and Kenya, as evidenced by Emmanuel Macron’s visit in 2019. According to a diplomatic source close to the Elysée, this relationship, although relatively new, is bearing fruit, with a significant increase in the number of French companies in Kenya, from 50 to 140 in ten years, now providing 34,000 direct jobs.
