Kenya : president Ruto announces measures to create one million digital jobs in next 5 Years

President William Ruto has unveiled new laws and policies to foster growth in IT services and unlock opportunities in the BPO sector. The government is enhancing infrastructure and incentives to attract investments and create digital employment.

The goal, he emphasized, is to increase government investment in relevant infrastructure, including national broadband and digital hubs, to generate jobs for at least one million digital workers over the next five years.

The announcement was made during the launch of the global contact center, Call Center International (CCI), in Tatu City, Ruiru, Kiambu County, which has already created over 5,000 jobs.
