In May 2024, Kenya launched its first National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy for the period 2025-2030. This initiative, developed through multisectoral consultations and international support, is part of the country’s broader digital transformation agenda. It aims for ethical and inclusive AI adoption, with priorities in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, financial services, and public administration. Kenya plans to strengthen its infrastructure and data sovereignty with investments in data centers and public-private partnerships.
