JNDA, March 24,25,26, 2022: Rendezvous in Bordeaux for a proud and upright Africa in its relationship with the World

For Africa to remain proud of itself, for it to resolutely embark on the path of its development in the service of its many populations and especially its youth, the African diasporas are, today more than ever, called upon.

By Pierre De Gaétan NJIKAM, Founder of the JNDA, General Director of the Pierre Castel Fund – Acting with Africa

For several decades, Africa has been facing many challenges. Among these are the demographic revolution, the technological revolution, the challenges of economic and social development, and the challenge of its cultural renaissance. And, above all, the question of the possible horizons to find hope for its youth so that it continues to believe in its continent.

To face these challenges, the continent needs all its forces. First and foremost, its diasporas. This African diaspora, now the 6th region of the African Union, met in Bordeaux. And from Bordeaux, it has worked to reinvent this Africa in a significant, proud and committed way. And this is why I took the initiative, on May 25, a date that is so significant for the AU, to create, with others, the National Days of the Diasporas and Africa.

« From Bordeaux, these African diasporas are mobilized, since 2013, to reinvent this dignified, committed and prosperous Africa »

For Africa to remain proud of itself, for it to resolutely embark on the path of its development in the service of its many populations and especially its youth, the African diasporas are, in a word, the most important actors in the development of Africa. African diasporas are, today more than ever, called upon.

This responsibility of the African diasporas comes from the fact that they are, since 2004, the 6th region of the AU. Also from Bordeaux, these African diasporas are mobilized, since 2013, to reinvent this dignified, committed and prosperous Africa.

For this, all the forces live have been mobilized: young people, students, women, professionals, executives of the public and private sector. And, beyond this African diaspora, because they are in connection with them, all the actors of the relationship between Africa, France and the World.

The JNDA are therefore, at the same time, the time and place where all these diasporic skills meet to make a significant contribution to the future of a continent which, itself, is now the place where humanity itself is looking for its last frontiers and where its youth is in search of all possible horizons.

« There is no future for the African continent without a mobilization for without a mobilization for technology, without a mobilization for everything that participates in the creation of value on the African continent »

And how to mobilize these energies without resorting to the resources of imagination and creation to African thought? The same one which, since these last years, enlightens Research and the University. Therefore, the highlight of the JNDA is to give a place to knowledge, to African knowledge. It is also an opportunity to mobilize the economic forces, because there is no future for the African continent without a mobilization for without a mobilization for technology, without a mobilization for everything that participates in the creation of value on the African continent.

The JNDA is also the moment when all the forces that can be mobilized and available are called upon, hence the need for a participatory, popular and festive moment.

Three days of high-level conferences and privileged meetings to help build an Africa that is up and running in its relationship with the world, on March 24, 25 and 26.
