Ivory Coast : Orange Sat expands satellite broadband to underserved areas

On January 21, 2026, Orange Côte d’Ivoire launched Orange Sat, a satellite broadband internet service in partnership with Eutelsat, to extend connectivity to rural “white zones” lacking 4G and fiber coverage. Using the EUTELSAT KONNECT platform, Orange delivers reliable internet up to 50 Mb/s, complementing existing mobile and fixed networks for households, businesses and remote areas.

Orange, a leading internet provider in Ivory Coast with over 15.3 million subscribers by September 2025, aims to bridge the digital divide and support use cases like remote education, telemedicine and rural entrepreneurship. The initiative is part of a multi‑year partnership covering other West African markets like Senegal and the DRC, with potential speeds up to 100 Mb/s on certain plans.
