Integration: DR Cong admitted into East African Community bloc
History was made on March 29 after the Democratic Republic of Congo was officially admitted to the East African Community during the 19th Extraordinary Summit of the EAC Heads of State, making it the seventh member to join the bloc.
In his address, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, who is the chairperson of the Summit, said the admission of the DRC into the bloc would enable the Community to achieve the much-needed development based on the economies of scale.
