Ibrahim Mo Index : progress and declines in African governance

The 2024 edition of the Ibrahim Index of African Governance shows that, despite some progress in human development and infrastructure, overall governance has stalled since 2022, hampered by insecurity and a decline in democracy. Only 13 countries have improved their performance, while 11, including Mauritius and Botswana, have seen significant declines. Mo Ibrahim urges against reducing Africa to an average, highlighting the successes of countries like Morocco and the Seychelles.
