Guinea : from fragile to middle-income status
In 2023, Guinea graduated from fragile to middle-income status. This achievement was made possible by a series of significant economic performances and major structural reforms.
Since September 5, 2021, Guinea has posted an improvement in its CPIA (Country Policy and Institutional Assessment) score, an indicator used by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank to assess the quality of a country’s policies and institutions.
The country’s economic growth forecasts of 5.6% for 2023 are also among the performance criteria.
Similarly, Gross National Income (GNI) per capita has risen significantly, from USD 1,010 in 2021 to USD 1,180 in 2022.
