On April 25, 2025, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, Adama Barrow, and Cheikh Tidiane Dieye inaugurated the Antula substation (800 MW) near Bissau. Financed with $722 million under the OMVG project, this 1,677 km power grid will boost electricity access and energy integration across Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea.
