Guinea : 120 million tons of iron targeted by 2027

Guinea has begun operations at the four blocks of the Simandou iron ore deposit, with production set to start by late 2025. According to Mines Minister Bouna Sylla, output will reach 60 million tons in 2026 and 120 million by 2027. The project, backed by China Baowu, Winning Consortium Simandou, and Rio Tinto, involves a $15 billion investment in railway and port infrastructure.
