Growth : more than a dozen countries expected to exceed 6% in 2026

The Economist Intelligence Unit forecasts that 13 African countries will record economic growth above 6% in 2026, despite ongoing global uncertainty. In its Africa Outlook 2026 report released in late December, EIU highlights easing inflation, infrastructure development, digital transformation and foreign direct investment as key drivers, with West and East Africa expected to remain the continent’s fastest-growing regions.
