Green Industry : Egypt secures €53.8m financing to advance sustainable industrial transition

On 23 November 2025, Egypt signed a €53.8 m concessional financing deal with AFD and the EIB under the Green Sustainable Industries programme, complemented by an EU-funded €8.8 m technical assistance component. Ministers Rania Al-Mashat and Manal Awad said the initiative will cut pollution and emissions, improve energy and resource efficiency, and enhance competitiveness and export capacity in sectors such as steel, cement, chemicals, food processing and waste management.
