Ghana : UK signs $256 million debt restructuring deal

Ghana and the United Kingdom have signed a bilateral agreement to restructure $256 million in debt, extending repayment over 15 years. The deal, endorsed by UK Trade Commissioner for Africa John Humphrey and Ghana’s Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson, is part of the Paris Club and G20 framework. It aims to create fiscal space and support road infrastructure projects to boost growth and jobs.
