Ghana : second african country to serve as an observer at the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI)

On April 30, 2025, Ghana was granted observer status on the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI), becoming the second African nation to join. This move expands the CAI’s global scope and reflects Ghana’s growing involvement in international AI governance. Already a signatory to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, Ghana continues to play an active role in digital cooperation and global tech diplomacy.
