Ghana : mining sector generated over $40 billion in a decade

Between 2014 and 2024, Ghana’s mining industry generated more than $40.1 billion, according to the Ghana Chamber of Mines. Of this amount, $29 billion was reinvested locally and $220 million allocated to social responsibility. However, mining towns such as Tarkwa, Obuasi, and Kenyasi continue to face poor road conditions, unemployment, and inadequate health infrastructure.
