Ghana : launch of a gold refinery in Accra

Ghana inaugurates the Royal Ghana Gold Refinery in Accra, marking a significant step towards the industrialization of its gold sector. With a production capacity of 400 kg per day, this project aims to increase the added value of local gold, create jobs, and strengthen the economy, thereby bolstering Ghana’s position in the global gold market.

A few months ago, Burkina Faso announced the construction of its first gold refinery in Ouagadougou, and similarly, Mali signed an agreement with Russia for the construction of a new refinery in Bamako. These initiatives reflect a growing trend towards the industrialization of the sector in Africa.
