Ghana: First biofuel production from shea nuts
Ghana has achieved a major milestone by producing biofuel from shea nuts, utilizing their waste to create biodiesel. This project, led by the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) and the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), aims to reduce agricultural costs and strengthen the country’s energy independence. The initiative also promises to lower carbon emissions while creating jobs and economic opportunities for rural communities in northern Ghana.
