Germany has announced a financial commitment of €88 million for the 2026-2027 period in support of the African Union (AU).
The announcement was made during talks between AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and German Foreign Minister Johann David Wadephul.
The funding will support AU priorities including peace and security, governance, migration management, health, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and flagship initiatives such as the AU Border Programme and AFRIPOL.
