Gabon : To ban raw manganese exports by 2029 to boost local industrialization

On May 31, 2025, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema declared a ban on raw manganese exports starting January 1, 2029, pushing for domestic processing of the mineral. As the world’s second-largest producer, Gabon will channel hundreds of millions of dollars into a public-private fund to support national industrial development.
