Gabon: Okoumé Capital licensed to expand private equity in Central Africa
Gabon’s Okoumé Capital gains approval to expand private equity across the CEMAC region, boosting SME investment and supporting economic diversification.

Okoumé Capital, fully owned by the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund, has received approval from the Central African Financial Market Supervisory Commission to operate as a private equity fund manager. This milestone strengthens the structuring of the private equity ecosystem within the CEMAC region. The license enables the firm to raise and manage investment funds targeting local businesses, particularly SMEs, across strategic sectors. The move aligns with Gabon’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and enhance private sector financing, complementing existing public investment mechanisms.
