France : Meeting between Emmanuel Macron and Samia Suluhu Hassan as Tanzania co-organized the Clean Cooking Summit

The President of the French Republic met with Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, on May 14, 2024, at the Élysée Palace, as Tanzania co-organized the Clean Cooking Summit in Paris.

The two Presidents also agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as energy transition, climate change mitigation, blue economy, transportation infrastructure, agriculture, and gender equality, in line with a joint declaration adopted on that day. In this regard, the French President praised ongoing projects like the financing of the Shinyanga solar power plant and the upcoming Franco-Tanzanian business forum scheduled for May 27 in Dar es Salaam.
