Food security: OCP will provide more than 4 million tons of fertilizer to African farmers in 2023

« OCP Group, a global leader in the plant nutrition market and the world’s largest producer of phosphate fertilizers, is committed to dedicating more than 4 million tons of fertilizer to African farmers in 2023, » announced Mostafa Terrab, the group’s CEO, on October 11, at the World Bank’s Annual Meetings.

According to a statement by the Office, published on its website, « this represents more than double the supply dedicated by OCP to the continent in 2021 and more than a quarter of the total production planned by the Group.

« This fertilizer supply program will include a component dedicated to training and capacity building in partnership with local stakeholders, in line with the Group’s farmer-centric approach, » the same source said, adding that « this allocation will ensure that the right fertilizers are available for the entire continent, with a view to boosting yields for 44 million farmers in 35 countries, including Morocco.
