Five African countries dominate the global kola nut market
According to a recent study by Cognitive Market Research, based on harvest figures for 2022, Nigeria, 183,405 tonnes, or 55.27% of world production that year, Côte d’Ivoire, 58,640 tonnes (18.61%), Cameroon, 48. 570 tonnes (15.42%), Ghana, 24,643 tonnes (7.82%), and Sierra Leone, 8,450 tonnes (2.68%), dominate the global kola nut market, which is estimated to be worth $119 million in 2025 and to grow by an average of 3.3% a year to 2033.
