FESPACO 2025 : Burkinabe director Dani Kouyaté wins the Étalon d’or de Yennenga 

On March 1, 2025, during the 29th Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO), Burkinabe director Dani Kouyaté was awarded the Étalon d’or de Yennenga for his feature film « Katanga, the Dance of the Scorpions ». This film, inspired by Shakespeare’s « Macbeth, » delves into the intricacies of power through the story of a tyrant. Kouyaté dedicated his prize to the Burkinabe people and the late director Souleymane Cissé.
