FDI : 84% increase in investments in Africa in 2024, driven by a project in Egypt

Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Africa surged by 84% in 2024, reaching $94 billion, a record high, according to UNCTAD. This increase is largely due to a project in Egypt, backed by the sovereign fund ADQ, for the development of the Ras El-Hekma Peninsula. Without this operation, FDI in Africa would have grown by only 23%, totaling around $50 billion.

Globally, FDI rose by 11%, reaching $1.4 trillion.
