European Union : $44M investment to modernize Douala–N’Djamena trade corridor

On May 24, 2025, the European Union announced a significant €40 million (approx. $44 million) investment to upgrade the vital trade corridor linking Douala, Cameroon, to N’Djamena, Chad. Supported by the EU-IFC guarantee under the Global Gateway initiative, the project aims to boost regional integration, job creation, and stability while promoting sustainable infrastructure development in Central Africa.
