More than 2,500 global leaders gathered in Addis Ababa on July 28, 2025 for the UN Food Systems Summit +4, co-hosted by Ethiopia and Italy, to review progress and renew commitments to transform food systems by 2030. Prime Ministers Abiy Ahmed and Giorgia Meloni emphasized the urgency of coordinated action, investment, and accountability. The summit calls for resilient, equitable, and sustainable food systems as drivers of development, beyond addressing hunger.
