Ethiopia: Government Aims for Wheat Production of 30,000 Tonnes for 2024-2025

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced the goal of producing at least 30,000 tonnes of wheat in the current fiscal year. In his priorities for 2024-2025, he forecasts a GDP growth of 8.4%, with agriculture as the key sector. Agricultural production is expected to increase by 6.1%, and crop production by 6.6%. Additionally, the country plans to produce 150 million chicks, 12 billion liters of milk, and between 450,000 and 500,000 tonnes of coffee for export. These efforts aim to strengthen agricultural capacity and support economic growth.
