Ethiopia and Somaliland agreed to deepen financial cooperation, including a possible branch of the state-owned Commercial Bank of Ethiopia in Hargeisa. Governors Abdinasir Ahmed Hersi (Somaliland Central Bank) and Mamo Mihretu (National Bank of Ethiopia) discussed trade financing, payments, FinTech licensing and anti-money laundering. A joint working group will advance the initiatives.
