Ethio Telecom, the Ethiopian state-owned telecom operator, launched its 5G network in the capital Addis Ababa on May 9. The network, which provides data speeds at least 20 times faster than 4G, will be extended to other regions at a later date, said Ethio Telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru.
