Ethiopia : Africa Infrastructure Financing Facility launched to bridge a $221 billion annual gap
The Africa Infrastructure Financing Facility (AIFF) was officially launched in Addis Ababa in February 2026 to speed up the preparation and financing of priority infrastructure projects across Africa. Led by AUDA‑NEPAD and the Alliance of African Multilateral Financial Institutions, the platform targets Africa’s annual infrastructure financing gap estimated at $221 billion, based on official figures from the African Development Bank.
The AIFF aims to mobilize more domestic capital and strengthen Africa’s financial sovereignty, in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
