The Ethiopian government has transformed 10 industrial parks, managed by the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), into special economic zones (SEZs). This decision aims to attract more foreign investment, stimulate private sector participation, and improve the efficiency of trade activities. The goal is to enhance the country’s global competitiveness and support its sustainable development. The majority of the parks are developed by Chinese companies, the largest foreign investors in Ethiopia.
