Equatorial Guinea : AfDB grants €58.6 million to boost human capital and youth employment

On October 30, 2025, in Bata, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea signed a €58.61 million financing agreement to launch Phase 1 of the Human Capital Development Project (PARCH 1). The program aims to train 2,000 young people (45% women), create 4,500 jobs, establish 500 youth-led enterprises, and build two polytechnic institutes in Mongomo and Luba. With a total budget of €73.27 million, the initiative marks the AfDB’s return to the country’s human development sector after a decade.
