Environment Gabon and the DRC sign an agreement to protect the equatorial forest
A memorandum of understanding between the two countries for the protection of biodiversity has been signed in Libreville, Gabon. The agreement signed by the environment ministers, Lee White for Gabon and Claude Nyamugabo Bazibuhe for the DRC, aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of the environment, the sustainable management of forest ecosystems, industrialization of the timber industry, conservation, management of protected areas, as well as in the fight against climate change, said a press release. At COP 25 in Madrid, Libreville was chosen to chair the group of African climate negotiators.
