Energy : IFC invests $25 million in Acumen’s H2R fund

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has announced a commitment of $25 million to Acumen’s Hardest-to-Reach (H2R) Fund, aimed at improving energy access in underserved regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. With a goal of electrifying 72 million people and reducing 5 million tons of CO2 over the next decade, the $200 million fund focuses on prepaid solar systems. Through this innovative financing model, Acumen mobilizes capital to support off-grid solar businesses while ensuring both financial and social returns.
