On April 23, 2025, Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) launched two 90-tonne tugboats built at the South Red Sea Shipyard, in a project valued at $30 million. Strengthened by a Chinese-Egyptian partnership, this marks a major step toward the SCA’s industrial self-reliance strategy.
