Egypt: Trade with Africa reaches $9.2 billion in 2023
In 2023, Egypt’s trade with African Union countries totaled $9.2 billion, marking a 5.7% increase from 2022 according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). Egyptian exports to Africa rose by 15.6%, reaching $7.4 billion. The top export markets are Libya, Sudan, and Algeria. In contrast, imports dropped by 21.7%, totaling $1.8 billion. Trade with blocs like COMESA and Sahel states showed mixed results.
