Egypt : Standard Bank opens Cairo office to tap Africa–Gulf trade flows

Standard Bank, Africa’s largest lender by assets, opened a representative office in Cairo during an event near the Pyramids on 13 November 2025. The move aims to capture rising trade and investment flows between Egypt, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Gulf, as confidence gradually returns to Egypt’s economy and regional integration accelerates.
