Egypt : Shell, Eni, BP and Zarubezhneft launch 10 new exploration wells

On 31 August 2025, Egypt signed four exploration agreements with Shell, Eni, Arcius Energy (BP-Adnoc JV) and Russia’s Zarubezhneft for ten wells in the Mediterranean and Nile Delta. Minimum total investment exceeds $340 million to boost domestic oil and gas production and reduce imports. Projects are overseen by Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi and EGAS Chairman Mahmoud Abdel Hamid.
