Egypt–Qatar : $200 million investment deal for sustainable aviation fuel

On 14 December 2025, the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority signed a $200 million agreement with Qatar’s Al Manaa Holding to produce sustainable aviation fuel in Sokhna. Covering 100,000 sqm, the facility will reach an annual capacity of 200,000 tons. Made from used cooking oils, the fuel is expected to cut emissions by 50% to 80%. Output will be sold under a long-term offtake agreement with Shell Global, with deliveries starting by the end of 2027.
