On May 22, 2025, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated Phase I of the Future Industrial City on the Sheikh Zayed Axis in Giza. The agricultural mega-project targets 4.5 million reclaimed feddans, including 800,000 by September 2025, to boost food security and reduce Egypt’s $20 billion annual food import bill.
