Egypt : Brussels pledges €4 billion in Aid

On October 22, 2025, during the first-ever EU–Egypt summit in Brussels, the European Union announced €4 billion in loans to support Egypt’s development and reforms. This follows a €1 billion disbursement in 2024, bringing total EU assistance to €5 billion, alongside €1.8 billion in additional investments and €600 million for specific projects. Several agreements were signed by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi to strengthen their strategic partnership.
